I was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, but I have family all over the world. My dad is Afghan and my mom is part German, which is what helped sparked the travel bug in me. I have a Bachelors in International Relations and a Masters in International Development. I also have a 8-12 teaching certificate. I love education and watching my students change the future.
After getting married in 2008, my husband and I joined the Peace Corps where we served in Sierra Leone. From that point, we knew we would end up in West Africa again. Upon returning, we had our daughter Sierra and I worked for the City of San Antonio, local non profits and spent the past two years teaching in a rural school outside of San Antonio.
I enjoy all types of fitness, running, learning about new cultures, photography, a good book, spending time with my beautiful family and volunteerism.
